How this predictor works
- Your score is calculated with the CAT marking scheme: +3 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong MCQ, 0 for a wrong or skipped TITA.
- For each year, we place your score between the two nearest published score–percentile points and interpolate in a straight line. We never extrapolate beyond the published data — outside it, the tool says "below 80" or "99.9+".
- The headline range is the lowest and highest estimate across the four papers. Your real percentile depends on how tough CAT 2026 turns out to be.

How accurate is this CAT percentile predictor?
It is an estimate, not an official result. It maps your score onto what scorecards showed in past CAT papers (2022–2025). Because paper difficulty changes every year, the same score has landed anywhere in a band of a few percentile points — that is why the tool shows a range across years instead of one number.
What score do I need for 99 percentile in CAT?
In reported scorecards, 99 percentile needed roughly 84 in CAT 2022, 77 in CAT 2023, 95 in CAT 2024 and about 82–90 in CAT 2025 (varied by slot). Tough papers push the requirement down; moderate papers push it up.
How is the CAT score calculated?
Each correct answer is +3. A wrong MCQ is −1. TITA (type-in-the-answer) questions have no negative marking. Unattempted questions score 0. CAT 2025 had 68 questions (VARC 24, DILR 22, QA 22) for a maximum of 204 marks.
Why is my raw score different from my scaled score?
CAT runs in three slots with different papers. IIMs normalise raw scores across slots into a scaled score, and percentiles are computed on the scaled score. For an estimate on exam day, use your raw score — the difference is usually small.
When will the CAT 2026 result be declared?
CAT 2026 is on 29 November 2026. Based on past years the result is expected in late December 2026 or early January 2027. Always confirm on iimcat.ac.in.
